Some events feel significant in the moment. Others only reveal their weight in hindsight. The live podcast and reception hosted by Lone Star Leadership Lounge at the Dallas Museum of Art was both, and I was humbled to be there to document it through event photography.
My relationship with the Lone Star Leadership Lounge is long-standing. The conversation about covering this event began at a reception at the Cowboys Club in Frisco.
Lone Star Leadership Lounge has a longstanding history of bringing together tech leaders in Dallas-Fort Worth in a curated room. Leading up to the FIFA World Cup, the conversations evolved towards the intertwining of sports and tech, and its impact for the North Texas region.
Our team had the privilege of serving as the official photography partner for the evening, which brought together executive leaders from across North Texas. Together, they shared a candid and forward-looking conversation about one of the biggest sporting events our region has ever hosted: the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
It’s easy to focus on the spectacle of a global tournament and forget how much groundwork happens long before the world is watching. That foundation was on full display at the DMA.
Co-chairs Dan Hunt and Nina Vaca, alongside Monica Paul, the President of the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, shared a detailed look at the regional planning efforts. The conversation covered technology infrastructure, operations, safety systems, and the logistics of delivering nine matches and the semifinals right here in North Texas.
Beyond the tactical details, there was a broader theme running through the night: community. The role of The North Texas Sports Foundation was a key point of discussion, as was the long-term economic and cultural impact of hosting a World Cup. The evening highlighted that it isn’t just about 90 minutes on a pitch; it’s about what a moment like this can do for a region for years to come.
