Corporate event photography is one of my favorite ways to mix up the day-to-day rhythm of running a headshot studio. As much as I enjoy creating personalized portraits in a controlled environment, there’s something energizing about stepping into a live event where every moment is unfolding in real time.
Recently, I had the opportunity to document the 2026-2027 Partner Party hosted by WFAA and the Dallas Mavericks.
Inside the WFAA & Dallas Mavericks Partner Party
The private, invite-only evening brought together WFAA partners for a night of appreciation, connection, and celebration. Guests were welcomed through a spirited tunnel entrance that immediately set the tone for the evening and enjoyed plenty of photo ops with the Dallas Mavericks mascot, Champ. The program featured a panel of speakers, who shared insights and stories with attendees, creating opportunities for both reflection and engagement.
Throughout the event, there was a strong sense of connection and appreciation among attendees. Whether it was a speaker engaging the room with a compelling message or guests networking and celebrating together, the atmosphere reflected the strength of the relationships that make these partnerships successful.
I saw people running up to each other for big hugs, I heard laughter that carried across the room, and even spotted a few people busting out a couple of dance moves with Champ.
Capturing the Moments Between Moments
From a photographer’s perspective, events like this are a constant exercise in observation. While speakers and scheduled activities provide obvious moments to capture, some of the most meaningful interactions happen in between. Those are the moments I find myself constantly watching for throughout the night.
As an event photographer who covers events from Frisco and Plano and all the way to Dallas, my goal is always to preserve more than just a record of what happened. I aim to capture the feelings of the event, including the excitement, engagement, and authentic human moments that attendees will remember long after the night ends.
